Catriona is an educational professional with three decades experience at both school and local authority level positions. Catriona has experience of working as a teacher within mainstream and Additional Support within both primary and secondary sectors and has also held a Head of House role providing pastoral, vocational and educational support to pupils whilst managing Child Protection responsibility. Catriona is qualified to Masters Level in Education and has an additional Post-Graduate qualification in Dyslexia and Literacy. She is an experienced speaker who has presented nationally to multi-agency audiences of professionals, and whose work in building effective partnerships has been recognised nationally. She has been a member of both CEOP’s Education Advisory Board and the Scottish Government Internet Safety Stakeholders Group and was involved in the development of the Scottish Government National Action Plan on Internet Safety for Children and Young People published in April 2017.
Currently employed by Education and Children’s Services within Perth and Kinross, Catriona provides support to staff across the authority, within both primary and secondary school settings, in the areas of health and wellbeing and child safeguarding.
Catriona and her family live just outside Perth. She spends much of her time in secondary unpaid employment as a taxi driver, however when she does have spare time, enjoys reading, concerts and eating out.
