Gavin has over 15 years experience working within the voluntary sector. He previously worked for Capability Scotland and has mainly been involved in the employability sector working in partnership with individuals with disabilities to assist them in gaining employment. Gavin also has experience of counselling individuals in the field of addiction. He holds a BA (Hons) in Politics & Social Policy and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance from the University of the West of Scotland. In 2015 he graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling. He is currently a Volunteer Associate Counsellor at Glasgow Clyde College. On top of his other commitments, Gavin completed The Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy (CIPFA) Certificate in Corporate Governance in 2018. With lived experience of what it is like to have a disability Gavin has an invaluable mixture of both professional and personal experience to bring to the board.
